VA has a good CCW permit Reciprocity. They have good gun freedoms.
In fact, you're not forced by law to inform an officer that you carry,
or to show your permit.

I already looked it up....

Listing of states with which Virginia has Reciprocity Agreements (A formal written agreement exists between the two jurisdictions):

Alaska
Florida
Kentucky
Mississippi
New Mexico
North Carolina
Ohio Pennsylvania
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
West Virginia

Listing of states with which Virginia has mutual recognition (Jurisdictions have informally agreed to honor permits issued by the other):

Arizona Montana
Arkansas Nebraska
Indiana North Dakota
Idaho (Enhanced Lic only) Oklahoma
Kansas Utah
Louisiana Wyoming
Michigan

Listing of states of which Virginia will grant recognition to valid permit holders:

Delaware
Minnesota
Washington
Wisconsin

Although Virginia will grant recognition, these states may not authorize Virginia permit holders to possess a firearm in their state. You will need to contact each state to determine if they will recognize your Virginia permit.

Virginia non-resident permit holders

Virginia non-resident permit holders should contact each reciprocal state to determine if their permit will be recognized prior to carrying in that jurisdiction.

EFFECTIVE April 9, 2013 – Pennsylvania no longer recognizes Virginia non-resident permits.
Florida law does not grant reciprocity to holders of Virginia non-resident permits.

Connecticut....not so much [http://www.cga.ct.gov/2007/rpt/2007-R-0116.htm]

correct! i’m a Va resident, all my life, i have never informed an officer of my permit or weapon when pulled over or gone through traffic check and have never been asked to see either. YET but once they run your tag or license number they know you have concealed permit, and so far for me, after officer finds out, they usually say have a good day!

Mike

(PS: maybe the rear of my truck being loaded up with pro 2A and pro gun and ANTI liberal stickers has something to do with it) although i do believe that gives LIB leo reason to mess with you also, but i take the chance!
