U.S. frustration with Israel seeped into the White House’s readout...

With the collapse of US foreign policy under Obama, two things have happened:

1. Despots know they have a window of opportunity to attack our “friends” until Jan of 2017.
2. Our friends know that we will not come to their aid, so they must do what is best in their interests regardless of what the US wants.

Nuymber two is causing the US’s “frustration”.

It changes the formula. If we had been here a few years ago, Israel most definitely would have attacked Iran. And all that that implies...

We are living in interesting times.

There was indeed a “red line” that was crossed. Only it was one drawn by Israel, and the Israelis mean it when they raise their voices.

Jean-Francois Kerre` is the one that blundered over that red line. Now even the Egyptians do not respect him.

If there is to be a damper put on the emotions in the Middle East, the initiatives would almost certainly have to come from Vladimir Putin. The Current Regime has, if not zero credibility, pretty close to zero.

RATS want a democracy.

I seem to remember a good analogy about democracy from Ben Franklin, that went something like: Ask the sheep how he feels about being a part of a democracy where the 2 wolves voting about what was for dinner.
