"That’s bad?"

Yes. I don't know about you, but I'm not into prolonging agony. The only thing we're accomplishing by delaying the inevitable is we're getting older and the Left is getting a stronger grip on Generation X and Generation.com every day. The cancer is spreading, and instead of trying to cure it, we're looking for ways to slow its spread. That's idiotic.

"Nothing personal, but are you delusional?

Do you think this is an action movie?"

No, I'm not delusional. I'm wide awake. I've read history. I recognize that's what happening today in our nation has happened before in other nations, and I know what happened to them.

My questions to you: 1) are you asleep? 2) Why are you wearing rose-colored glasses? 3) Are you so addicted to your delusions that you don't realize there is absolutely nothing to be happy about, nothing to be optimistic about, nothing to hang your hopes on? I think you're idiotic to believe there's any way to save our Republic without facing some kind of nightmare scenario. The only thing we can do at this point is mitigate exactly how dark and deep that nightmare is.

Do I think it's an action movie? No...I think it's history repeating. As Churchill said,

"Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves."

We're at the third scenario now, and because too many of us are in denial, we'll soon be at the fourth. All the Harvey Milktoast Pubbies in the world won't change that. Romney wouldn't have changed that. Insane McCain wouldn't have. Jorge Bush didn't. We had our chance to fix things the easy way, but instead we put the "No Bad Days" bumper sticker on the SUV, cranked up "Don't Worry, Be Happy", and poured ourselves another Corona while we happily lounged on the beach. Now we're gonna pay for our laziness.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Thanks for your response. I think the question you address is important and deserves it’s own thread.

I do think that this: “you don’t realize there is absolutely nothing to be happy about, nothing to be optimistic about, nothing to hang your hopes on?” is an example of fear and defeatism and spiritual drought.

I don’t think a Christian can ever think that.

What you are describing is societal, well beyond politics.
