Yes our local DGs seem to have 2 employees during the day shift. One at the register and one stocking. And the merchandise is typically in disarray.

In my area I think they’re losing to Wal-Mart; they seem to grab a niche with either people who don’t drive or those that are looking for one particular item (like batteries). In general their prices aren’t as good as Wal-Mart’s.
