And what’s wrong with his delightfully modest home in Gettysburg?! As a child, my husband saw Ike in his golf cart and waved to him. Ike waved back!
“And whats wrong with his delightfully modest home in Gettysburg?!”
Or his presidential library in Abilene.
It is long past time we stopped spending taxpayer money on the worship and glorification of our former presidents, particularly the recent ones. Let them fade away after serving in office. They are supposed to be elected servants of the public, not nobility.
I say take images of presidents off the coinage and money too. Return our circulating coinage and currency to images of lady liberty, our national parks, or great moments in our history (such as flag raising on Iwo Jima, the British surrender at Yorktown, or the first man on the moon) instead of honoring dead presidents.
