Ebola probably isn’t an issue for everyday people in Western countries, but there are certain demographics, namely queers and recreational drug users, whose weakened immune systems undoubtedly make them highly susceptible.

That doesn't seem to be the case. I am unaware of any evidence at all that Ebola hits mainly or even preferentially the immune-compromised. Being IC doesn't help, of course, but it doesn't seem our immune system, no matter how healthy, is much use against this virus.

Yet look what that 2% of the country did with AIDS which takes an intentional effort to spread.

I was wondering about that.

It would seem to me that maintaining a strong immune system would reduce our risk, at least to some degree. But from what I’ve seen nobody has even tried to address that.
