They are
But I was ridiculing the dope advocates’ “arguments” they’ve been regurgitating ad nauseum for decades
The purpose of dope is to get high, that’s it. Not everyone drinks to get drunk. In fact, by far most don’t. So to those trying to equate the two, no such luck.
“The purpose of dope is to get high, thats it. Not everyone drinks to get drunk. In fact, by far most dont. So to those trying to equate the two, no such luck.”
As one who has done both, but now does none, I assure you that often a person does NOT intend to get “high” on either one, but sometimes does.
With mind altering substances, it is the risk factor that causes damage to self, and more importantly to others.
The overwhelming majority of drunk driving deaths don’t come from the intention for it to go that way.
I do equate them. Plenty of people can use drugs, and drink, “recreationally.”
And sometimes they can’t. And a certain fraction of society can do neither consistently “recreationally.” They drink/drug to excess.
That is not even touching on a huge problem: elderly on prescription pain meds, whacked out of their minds, and some of them driving.
The drinker of course is a good moral being, the illicit drug user an evil rebel. But what of the elderly pill popper when he/she kills your child, while driving?
Yep. People just have a drink or two to relax. In other words, to catch a buzz.
Thank you Dr Boozebreath.
A lot of people have used it for pain relief! For insomnia! For appetite increase! To stop epileptic seizures. To prevent BLINDNESS! To CURE CANCER!
Just because you think Reefer Madness was a documentary does not make it so. Cannabis does NOT make anyone a criminal. The law does. There is no justice in an unjust law either.
