It wasn’t just democratically controlled late in the Bush administration. The democrats controlled both houses of congress and the White House early in the Obama administration. They failed.

They had 4 years under Bush and Obama.

Pryor, Hagan, Nelson, Baucus and Tester did the right thing and killed the Dream Act in 2010. 39 House Democrats voted against it, including the Mississippi Senate Candidate Travis Childers.

Only Senators Bennett, Lugar and Murkowski(who wrote in) voted for it. All 3 lost when when they went to a GOP primary.

Mike McIntyre D NC-7(beat 2010 GOP and Rouzer in 2012 district)

John Barrow D GA-12(Keeps surviving)

Nick J. Rahall II D WV-3

Heath Shuler D NC-11(Raham Emmanuel told him to work with Tancredo because it was good politics)

And Bush had a Republican Congress for years and he still did nothing. Neither side is interested in fixing this problem. I understand why liberals don’t want it fixed since more welfare cases means more votes, but why do the Republicans want it? Do they think they’ll get more votes?
