U.S. doctor quarantines himself at home after treating Ebola patients in Liberia

A retired American doctor who was working with Ebola patients in West Africa returned to the United States -- and put himself in quarantine.

MTI declined to discuss details of how Jamison traveled back to the United States, including whether he was on a commercial flight.

Jamison, 69, said he's had no symptoms of the deadly virus, but has been in seclusion since he returned to his hometown of Morristown, Tennessee.

The father of three said his daughter picked him up from the airport and dropped him at home, where he's quarantined himself and has had no contact with anyone since.

He plans to be in isolation for 21 days, which is the incubation period for the disease -- or the time between infection and onset of symptoms.

For his sake and all others, I hope he is clean. At least he is waiting to find out.

I read of another doctor who has quarantined himself in Vancouver, BC. He also traveled back to North America on a commercial flight.

I thought his obligation was to first do no harm. Flew on how many planes and rode in a car with his own daughter.
This is wrong in so many ways.

As long as these doctors showed no symptoms, it sounds like the flights were okay. As long as it was NO symptoms, and not “I’m feeling a bit off today. Oh well, I’m sure it will be okay.”

And not to get alarmist or anything, tinfoil or no, but Obama issued and executive order giving him total power in case of war or natural disaster — I think an ebola outbreak would qualify.

Obama’s Executive Order Authorizes Peacetime Martial Law

http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/item/9271-obamas-executive-order-authorizes-peacetime-martial-law

March 18, 2012

“In fact, the specific sections of the order make it clear that the President may take complete command and control of the country’s natural resources in peacetime, as well.

The last line of the quoted material gives the President of the United Staes the power to “control the general distribution of any material (including services) in the civilian market.” This seems to be no less than the nationalization of all food, energy, water, and healthcare pipelines and providers in the country. And to help him keep tabs on all this responsibility, he assigns a cabinet member to each category of control.”

Aren’t they wonderful? So selfless and heroic.

Same with those who tell us all to be as selfless as democrats and allow the border invasion without taking kids in, hundreds of thousands of them, into their homes. Not even one.

They give up OUR health and well being because they are so selfless, but it is our children, our country we are trying to care for.

Why didn’t these people just stay in Liberia if they are so heroic?

Horrible horrible stupidity

Ebola is not contagious during the incubation period. He wasn’t putting anybody at risk during the flight.

Unfortunately, those who would terrorize us read the same media we do and they now have a few ideas.

Since bodily fluids are the main vector of transmission, what happens when he flushes the toilet after using it, and the stuff goes down the train to the sewerage treatment plant? Wouldn’t the entire route, from toilet to the pipes, to the sewer and to the bogs where the stuff is stored till they turn it back into drinking water, be contaminated????

Can they remove the virus/bacteria from the water? Wouldn’t it infect the entire lagoon?

How do they handle the infection route in between? What happens if city workers have to handle those pipes for any reason? Or private plumbers?

How about if he decides to spit in his trashcan? People handle trash and many trash dumps have a line where people go through that trash in order to sort it for recycling. Wouldn’t those people be at risk handling his trash?

If he coughs or sneezes within his home, his entire home would likely become contaminated. Then what? Burn the house to the ground if he dies?

So many ways for infection to occur, and such a risky disease to have on the loose.

There is absolutely no way this will not get out. I’m starting (?) to think this might be intentional. If the elites can feel safe somehow, I believe they would have no problem with a total outbreak reducing population by 50-80%. The only question is their preparations, and do they have a vaccine or cure?

Couldn’t he have done that in a small hotel on the outskirts of town in Africa?

We are not supposed to think, just sit here dumb and happy, believing that ebola is no big deal... even if it kills 60% of those who catch it and leaves permanent problems for those who survive it.

And we certainly shouldn’t be asking any questions. (/sarc)

I sure hope and pray I am wrong, but have had this terrible gut feeling for almost 6 years now that Obama (or his controllers) will find or cause a reason to declare martial law sometime just before the 2016 elections and become our first 3 term president... The civilian police forces all over the US have been sufficiently militarized now... all we can do is wait and see, I guess.

Good question, this was a big deal when aids started in 1981.

As a "private plumber" or "service, or repair plumber" I paid some attention to that, but eventually lost interest and came to ignore it, most of us ignore Aids now.

What's funny is that Ebola has killed fewer than 2000 since it started in 1976, and Aids has killed 36 million since 1981, and 1.6 million in 2012, yet I never think of it anymore in my work.

“Ebola is not contagious during the incubation period”

Here’s the problem with the line of thinking. The incubation period is 2 -21 days, not 21.

Sawyer started throwing up on a plane. I read that some of the people on the plane are already infected.

Why are so many Ebola health-care workers dying from the virus?

http://www.vox.com/2014/8/2/5960449/why-are-many-ebola-outbreak-health-workers-doctors-dying-virus

“Exactly how are health professionals getting infected?

No one knows at this point. There was some speculation on the exact method of transmission at the CDC. But a WHO spokesperson told Vox “it’s a bit of a mystery” right now. “There have obviously been lapses somewhere in how the doctors and nurses have protected themselves and we don’t know if it’s clinics that they’re working in or elsewhere.”
