US: ‘Appalled’ by Shelling of UN School in Gaza (Rips Israel)
AP via PBS ^ | Sunday, August 3, 2014 | Tom Raum and Matthew Lee

Posted on 08/03/2014 11:54:03 AM PDT by kristinn

The United States said Sunday it is “appalled” by the “disgraceful” shelling by Israel of a United Nations school sheltering some 3,000 displaced people in southern Gaza.

In language that was rare in its directness and severity, the U.S. denounced in a statement issued Sunday the attack earlier in the day that killed 10 people, noting that the school had been designated a protected location.

“The coordinates of the school, like all UN facilities in Gaza, have been repeatedly communicated to the Israel Defense Forces,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in the statement. “We once again stress that Israel must do more to meet its own standards and avoid civilian casualties.”

The U.S. condemnation follows one by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who depicted the shelling near the Rafah school as both “a moral outrage and a criminal act.”

kristinn, another Freeper found this amazing example of hypocracy, FUBAR, Shaddenfraude, Karma all rolled into one. You should get this out there:

ISRAEL AND GAZA SITUATION SUMMED UP IN ONE SHOCKING LIVE VIDEO

Reporter (in front of UN school criticising Israel for attacking such places) is forced to duck as Hamas launches a misslile from it.

Israel believes and stated today the rockets that hit the school were in fact Hamas fired rockets that went off target thus it was self inflicted.

I'll bet we will find one day that a lot of these were Hamas doing this on purpose.

Great video! After the rocket was fired the turkey looked like he may have needed to change his shorts.

US: ‘Appalled’ by Shelling of . . . School

Still? Clinton has been out of office a long time.. no wait! I thought the headline said applaud shelling of school.

Belgrade bombing defying bill clinton and albright

The press allowed Bill Clinton to commit war crimes against the people of Serbia

"Serbia did not pose any threat to the U.S. . . . the liberal media never once questioned Clinton's motives nor do they to this day . . . Bill Clinton convinced NATO to join in the fight against the people of Serbia . . .The air-war . . . targeted civilians . . . schools, hospitals, churches, office buildings, and private homes. They even bombed a nature park! In Belgrade, all three bridges which spanned the Danube were destroyed. They knocked out power and water to the Serbs. The bombing went on for 79 days."

As I recall, bombing civilians was deliberate and meant to force them to oust their leader who had refused to resign. Clinton and Albright could not get him to resign so they "had" to bomb the civilians.

There is no moral equivalence or doubt here. The administration has clearly sided with the murderous, fanatical thugs who started this conflict by launching hundreds of rockets at civilians in Israel, and who sacrifice their children on the alter of murdering Jews. That most of the Arab league is in Israel’s corner speaks volumes. Obama and Kerry have made their moral choice, and the whole world understands perfectly what is going on.

To Hell with those who voted for O, and those who stayed home because McCain and Romney weren’t perfect.

I am sad that children died building the tunnels that Hamas uses to attack Israel with the concrete donated by. Israel to be used for humanitarian purposes. I am sad that the mentally disabled and weak are manipulated/bullied into become suicide bombers that kill the innocents. I am thankful that Israel has the iron dome to protect the innocents from the thousands of rockets hidden in schools and mosques. I pray that God softens the hearts of Hamas to honor ceasefires and that Israel will find a way to trust them when they do. I pray that Hamas learns to love their children more than they hate Israel.

Watched the video, and it's obvious the correspondent was rattled. It can be a little disorienting when the truth intrudes on your scripted agitprop, but a true professional propagandist can ignore what's in front of his face and stick to the script.

"Gaza Gallagher" needs to learn this if he expects to be the new "Baghdad Bob"

Well said, the rocket definitely interrupted his propaganda train of thought.

It would’ve been funnier if that biased moron had been burned a bit or otherwise injured (but not too seriously). Sorry, I am a big fan of karma, and he deserves to get some payback.

Civilian deaths are tragic. I'll wait a couple days for the investigation of the incident. Israel's, not the UN, they're a combatant as well. But if there were 3,000 people in the school, big school, and ten tragic deaths, I'm not seeing the problem on the surface unless this was the one UN facility in Gaza which was known to have nothing to do with storing weapons.

I’m thinking it is time to take care of US vets, retirees, our burning parks, our infrastructure that is going to hxll, and our borders, and especially we Americans.

Our corrupt politicians of both Parties on the take from wealthy lobbyists need to receive a serious heads up, and that America is their one and only priority, not the Middle East.
