My daughter has been accepted to a medical lab science program and out of 10 accepted only 3 of them are native born US citizens. I just hope she can get hired after she finishes it since she is blond-haired blue-eyed.

I hope so too. Good luck to her, and she might need to learn Chinese or Hindi to chat with her co-workers

I don't know the particular circumstances of your daughter's employment or fellowship.

Non-profit labs, government labs, and university labs have enormous latitude to hire foreign graduate students at below market wages for up to six years, and up to 10 years for Defense Department work.

Unfortunately, most of those foreign students are not “elite” graduates from “elite” schools.

They are overwhelmingly students from India, China, Russia, eastern Europe, and poor Muslim countries, and they attended “second tier” universities in the USA.

Almost all of them are chasing Green Cards, which means they will put up with bad pay and long hours.

The truly elite foreign students, the ones at MIT and Stanford, almost always come from western Europe, Japan, the oil rich Middle East, and English language countries.

It's very hard to hold onto them in the USA.

Most of them quickly return to their home country because the pay, and the perks, and the standard of living are identical to the United States.

America's deranged - and deceitful - immigration policies can make life very difficult for home grown citizens like your daughter, unless she is an elite student from an elite university.
