LONDON (REUTERS) - British fighter jets escorted a passenger plane into Manchester airport on Tuesday after the pilot reported that a suspect device was possibly on board, police said.
"An incoming plane has been escorted into the airport by the Royal Air Force as a result of information received by the pilot about a possible device on board," Chief Superintendent John O'Hare said in a statement.
"We don't know how genuine this threat is but it is absolutely vital we deal with the situation as a full emergency," he added.
The Ministry of Defence declined to comment.
Qatar, John Kerry’s new BF.
Just out of curiosity, what in hell could a jet fighter on the wing do to disarm a device on board the airliner, even if there was one? Lets see. He could panic the bomber if he was on the plane to set off the device. That would work. Not! Better, if they are going to send up an escort tell him to fly in trail, out of sight and standby for orders. Tell the pax as little as necessary and land. Most pax have little or no idea where they are,or what is going on anyway. They are either asleep or drunk. Why poke the bear?
Exactly my question, what good will a fighter escort do for a bomb laden airliner?
If the plane turns towards a populated area, it will be shot down.
However, even turning towards Manchester Airport could look like a terrorist act. Manchester Airport is about 5 miles south of the centre of the second most populous urban area in the UK.
It’s a propaganda stunt.
Same as all terror, pandemics, weather hysteria, etc.
Whip up the population in a frenzy of fear and anger.
The elites can use that frenzy to accomplish legislative and executive authority goals.
Also, increase sales of their businesses.
Etc.
We the sheeple often fall for the illusion.
Was Joe Namath the quarterback pilot? :o)
