They are tested with taxpayer dollars. By what right are the results withheld. Serious question. Please answer.
Excellent question and one that needs to be asked more often, and with respect to many other instances of government secrecy.
IMO the government does not want to release any information that might lead thinking people to question policies or demand accountability. The jobs of bureaucrats and politicians are thretened by such inquiries. Secrecy is a veil that protects them.
Power corrupts.
Justification for withholding the information will be based on the idea that to inform the public will cause mass panic.
Prevent panic?
