I appreciate your intent while there is no need for panic at this point, I am also concerned at the “experts” on TV telling the public how they are not in danger and ebola is very difficult to contract

Yes, this is the crap that is pissing me off. If this Ebola takes off in the wild here in the US, these so called medical experts should be up on charges for spreading false information. It's bad enough the media is spreading lies, but when there are deaths on the back of false information from doctors using the media, then they should be punished severely. We'd expect this kind of propaganda from the USSR of old not in the USA.

It would be great for information sharing if there was an EBOLA thread.

Ebola crossed out of West Africa. This is what I was worried about. Spain is sending in an Airbus into one of the countries to rescue an infected priest. British Airways stopped all air traffic into Sierra Leone and Liberia.

There are officially two deaths and a handful infected patients in Nigeria attributed to Ebola. Now THAT effects us investors. Oil, gold, copper, etc. comes from Nigeria........

Jeddah is the port city for Mecca.

When I "visited" Jeddah in 1976, it was population 300,000, and swelled to three million during the hadj. I'd guess it would be quite larger now.

In 1976, Jeddah had a traffic light.

In Africa they are working under horrible conditions with African staff, their protective gear is washed and reused and gets threadbare and torn, they dry it on sticks over bare dirt, tents are used, sometimes they operate without running water or electricity, it isn’t like here.

Especially when you are about to have millions of Muslims show up for Hajj in a few weeks - and distribute the disease mainly to nations without good sanitation, hospitals or civil order.

I mentioned this the other day, but they’re using rapid field tests in Africa to identify victims. I have a hard time believing we don’t have those here.

National Guard units in all 50 states received the Ebola field test kits on April 8th, 2014.

it would be ill-considered indeed. per a recent post
at PJM’s Belmont Club [”Wretchard/Richard Fernandez]
a large percentage of the population there are
non-nationals; many engaged in perfectly decent activities
