Hypocrisy Alert! Income Inequality Blowhard Robert Reich Paid $242,613 To Teach One Course
truthrevolt.org ^ | August 6, 2014

On Wednesday, The Daily Caller reported that Robert Reich, former U.S. Secretary of Labor under Bill Clinton, will receive a whopping salary of $242,613 to teach just one course at University of California, Berkeley this fall despite his lengthy record of criticizing rich people and, of course, espousing "income inequality." The salary totals at $20,217 per month.

A professor of public policy, Reich's history of leftist economic theories goes without saying. Aside from serving under Clinton, Reich also served on the economic advisory board for then-President-elect Barack Obama in 2008 and made numerous appearances on The Colbert Report, where he talked about "America's wealth divide" and the dire need for wealth redistribution.

At the height of the Occupy Movement in 2011, Reich gave an impassioned speech before a crowd in Los Angeles where he stated, "This economy is right now richer than it has ever been. What are we doing? We are cutting education, we are cutting child welfare services...we are saying we don't care about this anymore because 'we can't afford it.' Let me tell you so that you understand, we can afford it." By "afford it," Reich surely meant "afford me."

Posted on Reich's own Facebook page are the words "INEQUALITY FOR ALL," in reference to the 2013 documentary, starring Reich, that examined economic inequality and the failed Occupy movement, a movement he had stated would "never end."

According to The Daily Caller, his salary puts him in the top four percent of Americans, just three percentage points below the dreaded one percent. Reich will teach a regular workload of four courses in the spring.

Liberals are hypocrites on every level.

You cannot make money but I can.

You cannot own gums but I can.

You must drive death on wheels to save the world but I get to live in a 20,000 sq ft house.

$250,000 isn’t very much.

It wouldn’t pay for one short vacation taken by the Obamas.

his having talked so much for so many years, we can tell his lectures cannot be much better than any competent insructor’s

maybe worse, given his extreme politicalization of most everything he talks about...

meanwhile, just think of all the good classes (with good instructors earning normal wages) that the University of California could not hire, in order to pay this favored-guy this huge supersized payment for just one class.

It is the students that get screwed when public funds are paid out to politically-favored “pets” like this.

Maybe paid over 12 months?

If Durbin’s law passes he’ll be eligible for student loan waivers.

good quality instuctors can be hired on a similar part time teaching basis... for about $4 or $5000 per course.

SO, 48 courses for the students had to be sacrified just so the UC could give this political prima donna a quarter million dineros for gracing the campus with his (very brief) presence!

48 courses. Whatever administrator who approved this give-away, ripoff deal should be fired immediately! and made to repay the wasted funds

At $242,000 a course, he should change his name to “Richie Rich” and STFU before lightning strikes him (A curse which I hope comes true because I don’t have a bug zapper tennis racket device big enough to fry his marxist, greedy ass).

If there ever was a useless piece of leftist academic crap, it is Reich.

Under his policies, Obama would have a “Fourth Reich”. Money would be carried in wheelbarrels.

These idiots are so tiresome. We spend more money on education, welfare, and dah chidruns that ANY nation in the history of the universe. The failure is with the bureaucrats and punk little lefties that run all these programs. None are design to help or improve people. They are all designed to keep people dependent on their government overlords.

Reich will teach a regular workload of four courses in the spring.

If they are paying him $242k for teaching one course in the fall, how much are they paying him for 4 courses in the spring?

That is a lot of money for the little blowhard.

Or, at 56 inches, that’s $4712 per inch. By any measure, he’s way overpriced.
