Mississippi's state Republican Party is refusing to hear challenger Chris McDaniel's effort to overturn his June 24 GOP runoff loss to U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran. The party says McDaniel would do better taking his challenge to court.

In a Wednesday letter to McDaniel's lawyer, state Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef said a court is needed to ensure a "prudent" review of the challenge.

What this means is that they’re refusing to follow their own rules. Since this ruling comes from the Haley Barbour family, it is essentially the Barbour’s saying they don’t want to have themselves investigated and held to standards of fairness and honesty.

It’s a shame to recommend voting for a democrat instead, but Childers is a better choice at this point than is Cochran. He’s consistently pro-life, so the only difference between him and Cochran is that he’ll betray his constituents predictably. Maybe that’s better. Cochran, as GOP-E, is more a knife in the back when least expected.

There is no legitimate write-in campaign permitted by Mississippi law, and the 3rd party guy is some kind of nut.

Yep. Lots of hard drinkers in the Washington crowd. I don’t believe there could be any other explanation for the results.

Fully expected. McDaniel gave them the chance to do the right thing and save face for the wrong doers. If McDaniel goes to court, all the SLIMEBALL actions by the good ol’ boys in MS will come to light.

I say, go for it. Turn the log over and reveal all the vermin underneath to be in plain view.

Until he gets to DC anyways.

I'd never vote Dem, I'd rather skip that line on the ballot.

Why did Allen West drop his lawsuit...St Lucie County in Florida...votes exceeded registered voters and newbie Patrick Murphy (a democrat) won. Why did West cave? Were Diebold voting machines used? Who knows. Crickets.

The fix is already in. McDaniel is not going to win. The Republican Party royally fucked him. I deliberately used the f word to emphasize, in my opinion, how vulgar the Republican Party's treatment of him and his supporters is.

Hey, if McDaniel came in first in a 3 way primary, perhaps he could come in first in a 3 way general election.

Run a 3rd party write in campaign.

Childers was in Congress and DID have a 100% pro-life voting record.

Go here: http://usconservatives.about.com/od/2014-Elections/fl/The-Conservative-Case-for-Travis-Childers.htm

When compared with conservatives supporting a candidate who has committed election fraud, it is the responsibility of every thinking American to reject that candidate and make sure they lose to the best of their ability.

That could be, as you say, by not voting for anyone on that line. That might be the best choice.

The best way to ensure Cochran loses, however, is by not only taking a vote away from him, but by also adding it to the tally of his most serious opponent.

It is possible to make a case for the republican party being better off if they do NOT take the Senate in 2014. If they do, by the time the 2016 election rolls around, the media will have hung every woe of the entire country around their necks. Keeping only the House, however, will enable them to block new legislation, but blame for deadlock will be shared. They won’t be as big a target.

The right answer is to keep the House and be one vote shy in the Senate of a majority, and then have a possibility of a tidal election with a conservative president and a republican senate and house.

The system is rigged against us. They have seen to that. I am quite afraid we can’t “vote” our way out of this.....

Which should make discovery in a lawsuit a ton of fun!

votes exceeded registered voters

**************

There was a two page ballot and each page was counted thus it
appeared to be more voters than registered voters.

I would never advocate voting for the Dem. But I would never advocate voting for people like Mitch and Thad either. Write in another name, or skip it altogether.

No matter what happens this will do serious damage (perhaps irreparable) to the GOP.

I wish, but likely it will not harm the evil GOPe at all.

The utterly evil GOPe Statists are complicit in the destruction of our Republic.
