The best way to defeat OBAMA CARE, is for the middle class to have a MEDICAL SAVINGS ACCOUNT. That way, they can buy CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE POLICY. In other words, they will pay for everything under a certain amount, example: they will pay for the 1st $5,000 or the first $10,000. Anything over that, the insurance company will cover. Suggestion: Have every one put in $50/week, or $100/week, or whatever they can afford. Eventually, withing a few years, they’ll have enough money to cover their yearly medical cost. CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE is still very cheap.

That can be a good strategy for people under 30 years old or who can manage to get one of the hardship exemptions from the Obamacare penalties. Otherwise the IRS will force you to pay the Obamacare penalty and that may erase your cost savings.

I would like to know about the catastrophic policy to which you refer. The catastrophic policy I have has a 10k deductible and a 50% co-pay after the deductable has been met. The monthly premium for my husband and myself is $537.00. I was also told the premium will go up in January.

If you could point me to cheap catastrophic insureance, I would appreciate it. I am retired but not yet Medicare eligible.

We have essentially the policy you describe and it costs us $1200 a month. Not cheap in my book.

We’ve done this for years. Until now. Our “catastrophic insurance” with a $12,000 deductible is going UP $300 a month for 3 people. Now even this option is unaffordable at $1000+/month.
