So they still don’t know about Iron Dome?

Iron Dome doesn’t matter to Hamas.

Ask yourself - why fire a rocket? What are the odds that the rocket hits something?

Very slim.

So why fire it at all? What is the expected result, and what are they trying to accomplish?

The answer is they are trying to get Israel to fire back...hopefully a few kids will get hit, and their shattered bodies can be splashed across the news..

Each rocket probably costs them $1,000. They do practically zero monetary damage. But they garner tens of thousands of dollars worth of free publicity. This is their goal, and the value they get out of firing a rocket. It doesn’t matter if Iron Dome knocks the rocket down...they still get the payoff.

And the free publicity gets us here - where they are now demanding the seaport opened.....at a time when Iran is developing nukes. The west will pressure Israel into the suicidal action of allowing an open sea port, capable of offloading giant shipping containers of ‘peaceful goods’, with no Israeli supervision.

I would encourage Israel to develop a decision-less counter-battery system. They can announce its capabilities to the world - If you fire a rocket as Israel, artillery will automatically return fire to the launch location. It will be done immediately, and automatically, such that firing a rocket at Israel is akin to turning a gun on yourself. You are the only one pulling a trigger, and you are starting a chain reaction that kills your own people.
