I’ll be in the minority here. Why shouldn’t Gaza have a port? Let the UN supervise what’s being delivered.

___

The UN has always supervised what’s coming into Gaza (missiles) and where it’s being stored (schools). I hope you’re not serious.

The same UN that allowed rockets and ammunition to be stored in schools?

Or do you mean the same UN that allows Hamas to operate openly from the basement of a hospital?

Or perhaps you meant the UN that called on Israel to unilaterally cease defensive operations?

Israel and Egypt (yes Egypt) share responsibility for a standing blockade on the port. Shipments are not all turned away. Approved agricultural exports are allowed and humanitarian and general trade come in from non-terror affiliates. Hamas wants an open port so they can wage more war. An open unsuspected port means more and more sophisticated weapons Wil be imported.

The UN, Hamas and Hezbollah sympathizers to their core, cannot be trusted with running an elementary school... how can they be entrusted with port security?
