Video surfaced on Thursday showing Michael Mulgrew, president of New York’s United Federation of Teachers, as he unloaded a hateful rant against critics of the Common Core Standards Initiative.
“If someone takes something from me, I’m going to grab it right back out of their cold, twisted, sick hands and say it is mine!” Mulgrew bellowed clownishly. “You do not take what is mine!”
The union boss also challenged opponents of Common Core and union control over education to a fist fight.
“I’m going to punch you in the face and push you in the dirt because this is the teachers’!” Mulgrew threatened.
The teachers union bigwig made the speech at a convention in Los Angeles last month, according to the New York Daily News.
Ed Notes Online, a blog that follows education news, posted the screed yesterday.
Mulgrew’s bizarro, menacing outburst was part of an intense debate on a mundane resolution calling on the 1.4 million-member American Federation of Teachers to continue its support the implementation of Common Core.

Unions should have no place in “the People’s” government. They are nothing more than the old “Spoils System” returned on steroids.
I heard an equally thuggish Teachers Union president on the radio yesterday make the astonishing claim that “everything we do is for the children”.
I laughed so hard I nearly swerved into a ditch.

Why is the teachers union so in favor for common core? The only reason I can fathom is Obama wants it and text books have been written for new CC. Math and probably history placing America’s young way behind well educated around the world. Common Core deliberately dumbs down students....why would teachers unions want it?

They have won control of the country; Obama is their useful idiot, who interjects “We need to hire 100,000 new teachers” into every conversation.
Because of a massive, unrelenting PR campaign that has lasted decades, most Americans don’t realize public school teachers and their unions are the enemies of our way of life. Governor Christie here in NJ has been smeared in a non-stop phoney “Bridge-gate” scandal (which still hasn’t been connected to him) while much more serious internal assaults on our way of life are undertaken because he dared to expose the parasitic teachers for what they are. They’ve instructed their political arm (the Democratic Party) to atttack with their propaganda arm (the “mainstream” media).
When you see the relationships laid out, it is much easier to understand politics in this country. Teachers are foot-soldiers that are stationed in every town in this country, and paid by their victims to further oppress them.
Yeah, let those teachers say it’s for the children when the tax burden they place on families here in NJ drive more and more into foreclosure.
NJ is quickly losing its next generation of American children as those who can flee to greener pastures; I expect we’ll be getting many “border children” to offset the losses (and keep the schools open).
He is right out of the gutter and he does not speak for me or a whole bunch of other teachers who voted for another candidate.
I also despise Commie Core and its blatant indoctrination potential.

Union Neanderthals are all alike. They like to shoot off their big mouth but always send Louie and Vinnie wielding brass knucks and Louisville Sluggers to do their dirty work. Mulgrew is a greedy moron.
I got 15+1 reasons why that would be a very bad idea.
I just called back, identified myself by my first name and left a message w/the secretary, “please tell Mr Mulgrew that, as someone who shells out more than $14K per year in school taxes, pays his salary and believes common core is crap, i want to give him the opportunity to punch me in the face and drag me through the dirt. I’m sure others are up to Mr Mulgrew’s challenge, so let him know I’ll be calling back next week.”
From that photo of Mulgrew, he appears to deliberately dress and style himself like what the homosexual predator community calls a “bear” : Bald, shaved head, closely-trimmed mustache and wrapped goatee, stylist clothes.
