It is an absolute fact that drawing out female education is having the demographic consequences I cited.

I don't doubt that the effect you cite is true. But the idea that opposition to "child brides" is primarily driven by a population control agenda just doesn't ring true.

I know that there are plenty of leftie kooks out there who want to save the planet by eliminating, or at least drastically reducing, the human population.

But for sane, civilized people, I think the objection to "child brides" is just driven by visceral revulsion.

I didn't imply that you were advocating for child brides. I was expressing my own revulsion at your failure to demonstrate any degree of disgust or disapproval of the practice.

I well know that the age of fertility has been getting higher in our own society over the years as women have pursued education and careers. But that certainly is not the first thought that pops into my head when I think of those poor "child brides."

But the idea that opposition to "child brides" is primarily driven by a population control agenda just doesn't ring true.

Then you don't know much about the UN or global elitists. You do know that Laura Bush is both pro-abortion and pro-gay "marriage"?

I know that there are plenty of leftie kooks out there who want to save the planet by eliminating, or at least drastically reducing, the human population.

Ever heard of the Club or Rome? These aren't just "leftie kooks" but are in fact some of the most powerful people in the world. Worse, their toadies in the environmental move-mint and at the UN have committed genocides of enormous magnitude in the name of "the environment," which fits that same agenda, particularly in Africa. So I have more reason than just this article to question their motives.

But for sane, civilized people, I think the objection to "child brides" is just driven by visceral revulsion.

Which is why you "revulsed" before you considered what I posted for its actual intent. There was a reason I put "education" in quotes.

I didn't imply that you were advocating for child brides. I was expressing my own revulsion at your failure to demonstrate any degree of disgust or disapproval of the practice.

Spin. You were so overcome with revulsion for "child brides" that you missed the obvious indication in my attack on American education and my 17-year posting history here as directed at the leftists pulling these emotional strings. Further, you have apparently missed my promotion for women's education for the very demographic reasons I cited. So, BEFORE posting such an inflamed comment, did you seek clarification? No. You jumped on your charger and flamed, like a chump for a tear-jerking story. I don't think this program is all about compassion for young girls, for which I have good reason, and said so.
