In an interview with Reason posted yesterday, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, the chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, explicitly denied that Rep. Steve King is running the GOPs policy on immigration and took issue with the partys Nativist image.
He does not his position does not reflect the broad view of Republicans, she said of King.
Thats interesting, since just last week the House GOP passed a draconian immigration bill crafted by none other than Steve King. King even called one of the bills key provisions a mirror of what Ive done the last two years here in this Congress.

I think Boehner would rather this idiot would shut up and stop revealing his agenda.
Steve King and Jeff Sessions speak for most Republicans outside of congress. Even volume wise, no one else talks about the entire immigration policy. Ive never heard Boehner say anything more than a few words on the issue.
Reason magazine promotes great conservatives like Jeff Flake and Robert Sarvis(L-VA).
Sally McMorris-Hyphen needs to be removed from her position.
the partys Nativist image.
How is the above a bad thing?
Another shill for the Chamber of Amnesty
Hush up, Chatty Cathy. We should not be fighting with family, at least not in public. Don’t you know that yet? This does not improve your standing at all.

Ouch... @SteveKingIA re. @SpeakerBoehner “It’s pretty clear that it’s not going to be useful to have a constructive conversation.”
HOUSE OF CARDS: “Uh, no.” said @stevekingIA when asked whether he speaks to @SpeakerBoehner.
What a pathetic bunch of senators and representatives we have from the state of Washington! The democrats are locksteppers with Obama, Reid and Pelosi and the Republicans are locksteppers with Boehner.
This is WA state after all. While most of Eastern WA is conservative (unlike the “I-5 Corridor”, which runs through Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle and Everett), part of her district includes Spokane (includes Fairchild AFB), which leans Dim.
The seat was previously held by George Nethercutt, who was fairly conservative. He ousted Speaker of the House, Tom Foley (D)in 1994. I was trying to remember more about him and just looked him up - earlier in his career he was Chief of Staff for Sen. Ted Stevens (just threw that in as I found it interesting).
George ran against Patty (Osama Mama) Murray in 2004 and, unfortunately, lost. That’s when Cathy won this seat.
There’s a lot of rural area and agriculture in her district. I don’t know this for a fact, just surmising, but because at least some of her constituents want migrant workers for the picking/harvesting season she may be listening to them; and, while she may not support amnesty, she may support some type of migrant worker program. I know from a friend that used to live over there that quite a few come up from Mexico during the season then return to Mexico until the following year.
I’m not sticking up for her (she says things that I think could be worded much better, left unsaid and/or that I don’t like), but she is very supportive of the military and their families and veterans and also the disabled. She also supports pro-life and the 2nd amendment.
Her Life ACU rating is 89.3 - 2nd only to Doc Hastings out of the 4 Pubbie Reps from WA State (other 6 Reps are Dims, including Bagdad Jim McDermott).
Is she perfect - no. But, I’ll take her any day over San Fran Nan, Sheila J Lee, Maxine W or Patty Murray.
Just my $.02 FWIW
