From what I’ve been able to gather, he has a tackle, maybe a QB pressure, and a penalty called on him. Wasn’t in the game during the brief part of the game that the starters were playing.

He'll make the team. Nobody in the front office wants to be the first franchise to cut an openly gay player. LOL. You are probably right, but if that is true, I wonder if that means he is guaranteed a 50 year NFL career, because no one wants to cut him?

You're right. OTOH, let's say that Sam doesn't get much playing time this year, you're likely to have as many gays (and pro-gay supporters) say that Sam was drafted only for window-dressing and that the Rams really aren't interested in “diversity”.
IOW, instead of being the token black, Sam will now be seen as the token gay.
There's no way you can make these people happy. The Rams really stepped in it by selecting Sam. They're gonna be damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I hope the Rams play him as much as possible. The NFC West is the toughest division in the NFL.
Make him their "premier" starter.
