Talk-radio host Howie Carr agreed with a caller yesterday that political donations should be made first to LePage before sending donations to distant political races.

I think LePage has a better shot of winning than Howie’s VIP client Scott Brown. Howie protects Brown from tough questions.

Howie is awesome. I lived in the belly of the beast (Cambridge/Boston/Charlestown,Brighton/Winchester) for 30 years before moving to Casco Bay in Maine. He accompanied me painting through college, then drive’s home from work - now that I think about it - for 20 years.

Best line ever “When the phone don’t ring, you’ll know it’s me.”

LePage makes the dems very angry because he doesn’t play their intellectual games, try to beat them at their game. He just blurts out the truth, usually offending some victim group. They can’t argue with it, so they call him names.

That’s why I don’t think this was political. I think he cares about women, just not as a victim class, and thinks beating them is cowardly and disgusting.

So, it’s nice to see the dems in Maine get all angry at him. Now what will they do about this one? The guy just stole their thunder, probably by another blurting of his feelings without thinking about it. He actually acted like ... a real man.

One has a bumper sticker that says “Turn LePage!”. It’s so clever.

Anyway - I think LePage is one of the good guys ... and probably better than a lot of the big name conservatives, because I don’t think he sees this as a career choice or a way to be a savior, but a way to serve his state, and take a lot of crap for that. Also I don’t think he’s first a philosophical conservative, followed by his actions. He’s a self made businessman, those are his values, and that means you could probably call him a conservative - but it’s what he already was before naming it, it’s not a philosophy of his.

Enough out of me, except to say ... was listening to the Liberty Amendments last night. LePage is what they founders had in mine ... in terms of growing up, achieving success, then taking time out of your life to serve your fellow man.
