ACLU Warns Ohio Sheriffs On Illegal Immigrate Hold
Buckeye Country 105.5 ^ | August 9, 2014

The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio has sent letters to seven county sheriffs in Ohio asking them to ignore requests from the federal government to hold illegal immigrants until they can respond. The requests usually come from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but the ACLU says they're unconstitutional.

"ICE detainers are not legally binding if they're not accompanied with probable cause or a warrant. They're merely requests," said Shakyra Diaz with the ACLU of Ohio.

The letters went to sheriff's offices in Butler, Clark, Cuyahoga, Franklin, Mahoning, Montgomery, and Warren counties.

"Those were the counties that had the highest amount of ICE detainer holds," said Diaz.

"You need probable cause first and then you can hold someone. You can't hold them first and then try to build up on the probable cause after the fact," said Diaz.

The ACLU says ICE detainer requests have gone out to at least 126 prisons or jails in the state.

Outlaw the ACLU. They are accomplices to criminals. They certainly have no right to tell sheriffs to disobey the law. Since Obama changes the law to suit his political agenda, the ACLU feels free to do the same.

The ACLU is in lock-step formation ---- heels-clicking smartly---prostrate in obeisance. ACLU lips pressed firmly to illegals' unwashed behinds.

Then facts are these---every lawyer is an officer of the court, and should know that the US justice system does not dispense justice to litigants w/ "unclean hands"---a legal term meaning those who have committed crimes.

Every ACLU lawyer who is a party to this perversion of justice should have his/her license to practice law pulled....and be recommended to state bar associations for disbarment.

================================================

Border crimes most assuredly include (1) falsifying official documents, (2) giving false info to US authorities, (3) stealing SS nos, (4) faking multiple identities, (5) receiving govt monies under false pretenses, (6)falsifying tax returns to get EITC refunds, (7) money-laundering via remittanced to homelands, (8) colluding w/ criminal drug cartels to violate US borders......prolly aiding and abetting by carrying drugs into the US.

The GOP created this problem.

During the Bush administration, the GOP congress appropriated large sums to hire more border patrol agents. The number of border patrol agents doubled during those years.

But, the GOP congress didn't hire more ICE agents. Instead, they pushed this interior enforcement off on local/state law enforcement.

So, if you want to fix this problem, hire more Ice agents and build more detention facilities.

This is the federal govt's duties and forcing local taxpayers to pay the costs that their local law enforcement agencies incur enforcing federal law is unjust.

And compel ICE agents to ENFORCE THE LAW! Nothing will happen until our Law Enforcement Agencies are allowed to enforce the laws already in place. Lack of enforcement is by design.........Obama’s Rules.

Why doesn’t The American Civil Liberties Union go for it all and sue the feds with deamnding and forcing them to abandon all federal ice detainers and release or grant bail to illegals regardless of what crimes they committed..Mexico has no problem holding that Marine in lock up for is it 4 months ? He suffered abuse, beatings, chained to his bed..Shouldn’t the American Civil Liberties Union file a lawsuit demanding Obama get that Marine out of that Mexican prison as soon as possible ?

I checked the Butler county jail numbers a couple nights ago. There was 39 out of 201 (19%) being held for ICE. They were not all from central America either which is disturbing.

AMEN, brother/sister!!

You are SO right, and love your tag line quote, too.

The ACLU has no right or reason to question any detentions that ICE actually DOES...and ICE agents AND local law enforcement officers have no right or reason to not follow and enforce the laws as written.

If the laws are poorly written or ambiguous, call your Congresspersons, but I don't think that's the problem here, just sayin'...

I join the Amen choir. What good are laws if they aren’t enforced? Many are simply picking and choosing which laws they want to follow.

I’m next to Clark County. How does one check county jail numbers?

A city paper (internet) in Butler county list them with pictures in this case. Just in this small sample there appeared to be illegals from Russia, Africa, Vietnam, and central America.
