ISIS is certainly radical enough to do it, so will they and why haven’t done so yet?

Last I read, they were repairing it. Why would they want to leave themselves without working facilities.

Now Christian churches...that's a different matter.

If we back them in a corner and they sense the end is coming...they will flood half of Iraq.

Because ISIS controls Mosul and parts of Northern Iraq that get electricity from the dam.

They control Mosul.

If they take out the dam they take out their own people.

reading other replies to you. I don’t think they’re concerned about their own people. They will simply get them out of there before they blow it. The dam is the ultimate ace in the hole. So long as they control it they can place as many bombs as they want inside of it. Who can take it from them ? So long as the threat is there how can it be taken by force? This is one reason we can Obama waited far too long. The fighters realized the importance of the dam as a weapon. I guess we didn’t. Oils fields as well. Remember Kuwait?

Because ISIS is Sunni-based and 50% of the Sunni population in Iraq lies along the river from Mosul to Baghdad.

The damn is repaired and maintained with various equipment and raw material on an hourly basis. All that may be required for the damn to rupture is to shut down the machinery and run off the maintenance personnel.
