I think it is higher than 1 in 1000 now a days but that still leaves out a lot of government agencies, pretty much all are armed these days
The last official number that I recall is there is total of 7.5 million armed personnel in the USA. This includes military troops and law enforcement officers with the authority to arrest who are employed by the feds, states, counties and cities. I don’t think this included state guard / national guard troops. Maybe it did. I’m not sure.
Out of this 7.5 million how many can walk five miles in a day, three days in a row? Probably less than 50% from the number of overweight cops I see every year.
