To: Hugh the Scot

The resulting killing seems waaaay excessive. No doubt. However, if a law is being broken by the defendant, the defendant puts himself at the risk of being approached by LE. And actually, that is the way it should be for everyone. Aside from that, no, a police command need not be met with instance compliance.

This one did. Compliance wasn’t immediate and a man died. Shot what? 10 times? For the crime of not adopting a sufficiently subservient attitude in the presence of police power. There is no justification for the cop escalating the situation to that level over a traffic infraction. No amount of copsplaining will ever be sufficient.
