Why can’t they just airlift in a Marine company, and provide air support? Wouldn’t that work?

What’s needed are rough riders, not under the auspices of the US government. Where and how to find and equip people with the necessary skills and get them over there is the big question, but the US military is under the command of the US government, and even with a good, decisive POTUS, they don’t do this sort of thing well.
