Rift grows between Obama, media as press groups blast administration ‘spin’
FOX News ^ | August 13, 2014

While Congress is on recess and President Obama vacations in Martha's Vineyard, a coalition of free press groups is escalating an already-aggressive campaign against the Obama administration for allegedly freezing out the press and cracking down on reporters.

Society of Professional Journalists President David Cuillier, in a statement earlier this week, blasted the administration for what he called "excessive message management and preventing journalists from getting information on behalf of citizens."

SPJ is among the groups that's been leading the charge on the issue. Last month, more than three dozen groups, including SPJ, wrote to the White House about what they described as growing censorship throughout federal agencies.

Cuillier's latest statement came in response to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest's Aug. 11 letter to his organization regarding their complaints.

In it, Earnest said Obama's commitment to transparency is "unwavering." While he acknowledged "there will always be a healthy, natural tension between journalists and the White House," Earnest vowed greater transparency going forward and pointed to several steps the administration has taken: like processing more "freedom of information" requests, declassifying records and releasing information on White House visitors.

"Typical spin and response through non-response," Cuillier shot back.

He said he hopes the administration is "sincere" about being more open, "but we want action. We are tired of words and evasion."

What a load of garbage.

Obama has been doing this to “reporters” for YEARS and they have said nothing, reported nothing, and done nothing. As sure as shootin’ there is a political calculus to them complaining about it now after have never before done so in earnest. Okay, how does this help Hillary?

Obama’s buddies in the media are both pissed and frightened that he is not even trying to come up with plausible excuses or lies that they can weave into web of positive propaganda and that he is not even trying to pretend to be a President acting in the national interest. Many now see a future where Obama’s water carriers and his paid and volunteer liars are going to be held accountable for their actions

They are “pivoting” to supporting Hillary over an unpopular Obama.

They still like him, like his policies, but they see where the unenlightened masses are going in their opinion of him.

Until they can eliminate the need for popular votes, they have to cater to it.

If the media respond by reporting the truth instead of substituting their own spin, then we may be onto something.
Until then, they're no more than little kids who didn't get their usual bedtime snack from daddy 0.

It’s the mid-term Democrats they want to help distance themselves from Obama right now.
Rewriting the history of the last 6 years to erase their disciplined, unwavering support for him isn’t easy.
But they can do it. They have to so the “nonpartisan, independent” Dems can be reelected to continue their lockstep support.

...”he is not even trying to pretend to be a President acting in the national interest”....

He's in Community Organizing mode at best...and not “there” at all at worst. He's already moved from the Whitehouse just a matter of tying up loose ends and taking out the trash before he actually goes. It's all about departure and wrecking the place and our country on exit!

Oh, and just wait until obama installs his “monitors” in every newsroom in America. The first time was just a dry run, the next time they mean it. Now to all you journalists out there: go out and repeat the DNC propaganda ad nauseam, if you know what's good for you.

It is so hard being last year’s fashion I guess.

They have ridden the wonder boy as far as they wanted to do, now they are getting perparing to pivot to Hitlery. First thing they need to do is to start make observations a free press of actual journalists would have done 5 years ago: this clown is an empty suit. So, they now need to get back their bonafides so they can begin to fall into line behind Hitlery, no way they report the libs are wrong and the conservatives right, no, just an intermural fight in the dem party to give Hitlery some creds.
