GOVERNOR PERRY WILL PERSONALLY BRIEF NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS ABOUT TO BE DEPLOYED
Breitbart ^ | August 13, 2014 | By Bob Price

HOUSTON, Texas — Members of the Texas National Guard currently in training at Camp Swift, near Austin, have been told to stand by for a personal briefing from Texas Governor Rick Perry. Perry is expected to arrive at Camp Swift this morning to brief the troops on his expectations of their deployment.

It is still not clear as to exactly where this first batch of troops will be deployed, according to one of the soldiers currently at Camp Swift. The soldier has been at the camp receiving training this week and expects to be deployed somewhere along the border this weekend.

Approximately 300 soldiers are in this particular training group. He also revealed the soldiers will be traveling and patrolling in military vehicles.

The first group of soldiers who were trained last week have been ordered to remain at Camp Swift to train the following waves of soldiers. They will remain at Swift for two months.

The soldiers are also being trained in the use of advanced surveillance systems such as the Ratheon LRAS (Long Range Advanced Scout) systems. These systems can be used to detect illegal crossings of the border, but also to search for people being smuggled through ranch lands to avoid border patrol checkpoints like the one in Falfurrias.

Public Information Officers from both the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Texas National Guard have been extremely tight lipped about releasing any information regarding the deployment.

In supply.
(Or maybe in footlockers… sealed, of course.)

...it is NOT an invasion. They are not an army. They are not armed.

Well, they certainly sounds like a weaponized army to me.

They are what they are...

...DANGEROUS CRIMINALS.

Yes, to date, the Governor has not authorized arrest powers. They are to work with the Border Patrol, not independent teams.

http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/20025/

“Texas put out the call and you have answered. Your mission is clear - to be a visible presence to deter criminal activity - and contribute additional eyes and ears to assist law enforcement and Border Patrol agents along the border,” Gov. Perry said. “At stake are the lives of innocent people along both sides of the border, and the safety and well-being of communities across the state, and our nation, placed in jeopardy by the criminal activities of transnational gangs and drug cartels.”

Emulate “Cordel Walker Texas Ranger” when kicking them. Is hopefully what he says.

Last I heard was that they were there to observe and then hand over any illegals to border patrol.
Problem is that once they hand them over to border patrol then the border patrol hand them over to ICE who in turn ships them about the country instead of getting rid of them.

So if that is true then this is all a waste of time.

Still I will wait for more details and hopefully have more responsibility than observe and help with food and diapers.

You don't understand … it's not an issue to be solved with police power, it is an issue to be solved with the power of the sword.

The lowball estimates of how many illegal aliens are present in the US are 7 million, the higher are 20 million and I've heard one at 35 million.
The Total US population is approximately 314 million. So this yields the following:

 7/314 ≈ 2.2%
20/314 ≈ 6.4%
35/314 ≈ 11.1%
If it's the first one it's quite worrisome, if it's one of the other two then an invasion.

In my area NG were armed, on patrol and spotting for BP in remote areas on the border, with no ammo and were also told no contact with illegals. In fact they were told if illegals came toward them they were to leave the area. I know that for a fact. At the time due to my employment situation I could not say that in public but it was absolutely true.

In the magazine well, as seen in the photo.

You "unlock" them with the little button between the trigger and dust cover.

Art 16, Sec 46, para 431.010.

I notice your citation doesn't have an article.

“When LA rioted, the NG was there almost immediately.”

A good part of LA burned before the NG showed up.

“Perry will personally brief National guard soldiers..”

I bet he’d like to de-brief a few as well!

Well, I’m not one who even wanted Romney to run the last two times, but I was hoping to see Perry show some fortitude and really act down at the border with his NG. I wouldn’t expect to see ANY of the other border states governors do anything, particularly our “Brown.” Here though, we have three of the four border states with GOP governors and neither of the other two (Martinez or Brewer) are making a peep. Oh well, at least they don’t have any balls for a reason!

They will be unarmed, their job is only to observe>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That might be the official line, but this is Texas and every man will have a gun. Count on it.
