Corker 'Not Ruling Out' 2016 Presidential Run
News Channel 9 ^ | August 13, 2014

Tennessee Senator Bob Corker says he isn't ruling out joining the field of Republicans running for president in 2016.

Corker, who is two years into his second term, said Wednesday that any decision on a White House bid would wait until next year. He also noted that his wife, Elizabeth, may be wary of the intense media attention on the presidential field.

Any possible move to join the race could put Corker against fellow Republicans with higher national profiles such as potential candidates Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Following his election in 2006, Corker became deeply involved in negotiations on the auto bailout and financial regulations. His willingness to work with Democratic colleagues has raised some criticism among the conservative base of the GOP.

I'm still predicting that Eric Holder will be the next president.

He'll run as "Obama's third term" to continue the "historic first black president" meme.

Sounds like something you’d name a dog. “Come here, Corker!”

You can just tell by looking at this guy that he’s an arrogant douchebag.

There must be a book coming out soon.

Corker sees what a sweet gig it is to be a candidate for President. Santorum's made a career out of it: a book every few years, regular appearances on cable news as a "former candidate for President", etc.

Agree, but unfortunately narcissistic delusions of grandeur aren't limited to the moderate/liberal wing of the GOP

Ya think?

I want this skunk out of office almost as much as I wanted Alexander out.

This is really funny. FReepers are the activist base. I can’t remember when Corker has even been mentioned here, at best as an adjunct to LAMAR!. No one has been out there saying; ‘you know who we really need for President? Bob Corker’. Never happened.

It would be great to see him deplete his personal fortune with a presidential run. We would have to endure hearing his awful nasally voice in ads and interviews, but it would be fun to watch him lose. He is a little Napoleon who doesn’t realize people are laughing at him behind his back. Both Corker and Alexander are embarrassments to Tennessee.

IF he does run it’ll be so he can make more money on the speaker’s circuit.

I think Reagan was the last president who served because he wanted to help the country.
