Just to set the record straight:

Michael Brown had no criminal background

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – An 18-year-old shot and killed near a Ferguson apartment complex Saturday afternoon had no criminal record, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office....

Unfortunately, the rioting has diverted attention away from what may well have been a serious police crime. Many here have been pointing this type of action by the police as of late. I wish we could get more info on what happened in regards to this young man.

As it stands now, most whites are going to forget who this young man was, and sort of shrug their shoulders as they think to themselves "there go those crazy black people". I hope we find out what happened and that justice is done. Shame on these opportunists who take advantage of the situation in order to loot and pillage.

What has that to do with rioting?

Someone posted a criminal record a day or so ago, and it looked legitimate - an incident back in February, if I remember correctly.

There were 4 separate charges relating to whatever happened, and they looked pretty serious.

I also saw a photograph of Michael Brown wearing “colors”, and flashing a gang hand sign.

I have no idea what to think, except I wish people would not challenge (or appear to challenge) police when there is a situation.

Considering the pressure that urban police face on a daily basis, and the lack of time an officer has to make a decision about the use of his weapon, it is stupid to act in a threatening way.

Not that I think all police are without fault - many are wired way too tight, and apt to react first, think second.
