This kid has given this statement to the police, the FBI, and the press.

That gives what he says more credibility than the flimsy story that the police initially put out that was without any witnesses and that they are now backing away from big time.

You may not be aware of it, but eyewitness testimony is quite often wrong. Especially when the witness(es) are friends of the victim, and/or innately hostile to the accused. If the race hustlers weren't turning this into a circus, if the gimme-free-stuff crowd wasn't using this as an excuse to do some undocumented shopping, if the useful idiots weren't jumping to conclusions, then maybe we could have an actual investigation to find out what really happened. It is definitely a suspicious event, and the police do seem to be going overboard, but the point remains -- thanks to knee-jerk reactions, we may never be able to have a objective and thorough investigation where we can find out what really happened.

People buying, without question, the testimony of your "credible" witness, isn't helping matters. No matter what you might think, professional investigators don't automatically believe a witness simply because of how they speak (which was what you claimed convinced you of his credibility).
