I can find humor in many places, but not here.
My two "kids" are Iraq war vets, and (IMHO) just when we had that thing nearly won, we just left. (Leaving a power vacuum with Iran as a next-door-neighbor.)
I would love to read much more discussion on Clare Lopez' premisses; interesting info, and right before a huge midterm election, too.
.
I agree with your sentiments. I have no doubt we share anger at the whole Obama strategy for the region. It’s just absurd. ISIS/ISIL wouldn’t exist without his brilliant supplying and financial support for “Syrian Freedom Fighters”.
The man is a child. I get tired of saying it. He is a nine year old child, being advised by seven year old children.
Then you have people on this forum absolutely thrilled to have us totally abandon Iraq to this.
As I said, all you can do it laugh. The policies are absurd. The reactions to it are often absurd. People you would hope to be able to count on in a pinch, are just thrilled with Obama’s actions in Iraq. They won’t say so, but they’re thrilled to have our troops home and watch Iraq burn.
I respect your son’s service, and feel pity for those who can’t grasp why we go places around the world. We do, because it is worse when we don’t. If this ISIS/ISIL plan is successful, the Middle-East will be somewhere between 100 and 1000 times more dangerous than it has been for the last century.
So what can you do but laugh. It’s one big cluster ——, idiots all the way around on this one.
I’ll take your criticism in stride. I understand where you are coming from.
“just when we had that thing nearly won, we just left.”

I never understood why we quit. IIRC, we were half way to Baghdad, but just turned around and left.
