Yes, and the military sent in to assess say "They don't need any help". The take I read that makes sense is that Obongo needed a strong cover story to preempt the expected howls of outrage from his leftist base when he started inserting military back into Iraq.

I think now he sees that the pressure is all the other way. All the adults in the room, left and right, are saying, you can't ignore this. You can't have arbitrary rules, like "No Boots On the Ground". You gotta go fight it.

Absolutely, but anyone doing that needs some technological advances such as airplanes (Not bombs and guns but at least eyeballs), comms, etc. Anyone thinking just boots will do it will probably get slaughtered.

Intellegence, and the truth of it, matters. Before boots touch down the assessment of Obama’s now politicized military leadership must be found trustworthy to even function reasonably safely.

Certainly, I pray for the brass, that there are at least a few good men left for the sake of our beloved troops, who have not been already relieved and replaced, and in whose hands our boys would be in.
