You might want do a little reading before you throw him in with the likes of Sharpton. He was one of the original freedom riders. On the ride from DC to New Orleans he was beaten by mobs and arrested. He organized the Mississippi Freedom Summer to register black voters in 1964 and led the 1965 Bloody Sunday March in Selma where his skull was by a mounted policeman. He was willing to put his life on the line to secure the blessings of liberty.

I read some of what happened to him. He was brutally beaten for riding in a white only bus.... man hard to believe crap like that went on in the US. Shameful!!!
