IMO, you have described the mentality of too many cops these days. They divide the world into cops and scumbags - and if you’re not one, you’re the other.
That’s a two-pitcher discussion at least. I am reminded of the quote, “Money does not change a man, it unmasks him”. I say it’s also true of alcohol, a loaded gun, or a position of power.
If you’re a trigger-happy jack-booted-thug but you didn’t have a gun until today, and within five minutes you shot somebody, was it you or was you having a gun?
