<>The cop was on his way to the apartment complex because of a call of ‘shots fired’.<>

Where did you get that? Here is the timeline from DM:

11.48am - Officer Darren Wilson and an ambulance crew were at an unrelated call about a sick person

11.51am - A 911 call comes in about a ‘strong- armed’ robbery at a nearby convenience store

11.52am - Police radio dispatch gives a description of two robbery suspects who assaulted a clerk and stole Swisher Sweet cigars. The clerk says the suspects were walking toward the QuickTrip gas station

12.01pm – Officer Wilson encounters Michael Brown walking in the middle of the street in the 2900 block of Canfield Drive. The officer shoots Brown dead following an altercation

12.04pm – A second officer arrives on scene and the ambulance from the sick call arrives to give Brown medical attention. He is declared dead at the scene

12.05pm – A supervisor arrives at the scene of the shooting

I don’t see any wound on his back, entrance or exit. I suppose it’s possible there’s an entrance wound on the side not photographed but I don’t think such a shot would be at least immediately fatal. As the shot that killed him was.

Looking at that picture has changed things for me. I think it possible it went down like this:

Brown reaches for the gun, in a struggle he was shot once (not fatally) then starts to run away. The cop gets out of the car and orders him to stop, possibly firing a warning shot to get his point across.

He turns around, facing the cop (who most likely had his weapon drawn then), and he even maybe put his hands up. But only to give the cop pause, as his real intent (and final act) was to start running towards the cop again (thinking with his hands up he wouldn’t fire). But he did.

This scenario as I described fits all the reports we’ve heard till now. And it also fits what we see in the photos of the aftermath.

In the case you two are discussing, the ‘poor innocent victim’(/s) had a heart attack due to the fact he was a big fat porker who overwhelmed his circulatory system during the struggle.

If you can’t breathe, you also cannot talk. Try it. Hold your breath and talk.

I am aware of the difference, thanks.

Any LE officer from any department could have spoken at SL's "Ethical Society of Police"; that proves nothing.

But on further investigation I discovered this: The other Darren Wilson: St. Louis City Sergeant not the cop who shot Michael Brown

What I read somewhere, and I don’t have a link, the teen pushed the cop into the squad car, then assaulted him and tried to get his gun while they were both in the car.

Shots were fired inside the vehicle, and there is evidence supporting that, and the kid got out of the car.

He was shot to death moments later. The exact circumstances weren’t made clear, but the photographic evidence leaves doubt that he was shot in the back.

If the guy climbed in your car and assaulted you, you shoot him, you are clear. If he ran away and then decided to come back, can you shoot him while he menacingly coming toward you for a second time??

“Shots were fired inside the vehicle, and there is evidence supporting that, and the kid got out of the car.”

And they’ll say the police planted the evidence.

I saw the video and I heard the tape —

The words came out of his mouth and they were strained as would happen if you were unable to get any additional air in your lungs.

The tape is available listen yourself —

And another thing if he was shot in the back (and that was the fatal shot) his head woukdnt be pointing towards the blood trail. It would be pointing away from it (as the blood is clearly running downhill.)

The issue of my claim is not just distance, but that the perp did not have a weapon, and was shot multiple times AFTER he was running away.

My point was and is, if you or I did the same - even if after the perp was in our house and punched us - we would be charged with manslaughter or murder.

If we shot him once from inside our house - no problem. If we chase after the perp and shoot him several more times while he is outside our door and not carrying a weapon - the law will come down hard on us.

I’m noting the discrepancy between what agents of the state can get away with and what us little people cannot. Different sets of standards it seems.

Kinda like the IRS.

Where did you get that?

It was a conclusion based on the early reports that night. I was up until 2:30am reading, watching, and listening to the activities. There were reports of 'shots fired' , before, during, and after the incident.

I will gladly concede that your 'information' on the timeline is correct. I may have had that detail wrong. That means I have learned something new, which is a winner in my book. Now I am closer to the 'truth', which is one of the benefits of debating these incidents here on FR.

Thank you for providing this information. I hope everyone reads it.

If he ran away and then decided to come back, can you shoot him while he menacingly coming toward you for a second time??

Has it been established that the perp turned around and came back at the cop?

Again - if the perp is not armed, was the cop not armed with a baton, a can of mace, a taser?

Given the state of the militarization of the police in this country - do we really want to give latitude to agents of the state, that at their discretion they can shoot to kill?

One law for us - a different set of "laws' for the state and their agents?

That seems to be the case at an ever-increasing rate. And to much applause.

Did he mean that the kid was hit inside the car, and then ran away and died?

That would fit the scant bit of evidence we have.

Here is the person I can’t wait to hear from — Bob McCullough, the St Louis County Prosecutor, who would have handled the robbery charge:

Michael Brown had no criminal background

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – An 18-year-old shot and killed near a Ferguson apartment complex Saturday afternoon had no criminal record, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office....

St. Louis County Prosecutor’s office confirmed that Brown had no prior misdemeanors or felonies against him.

Has it been established that the perp turned around and came back at the cop?

Has it been established that he was shot 30 feet away?

The only real "witness" was his accomplice

If that is the case as you described and evidence supports those facts - then the killing of the perp would be justified.

I’m reacting to the initial reports as cited by the police and the media at the scene when this went down that the perp was unarmed and shot several times while running away.

I’m still baffled that with the liberal use of tasters and mace these days why those were not used to affect an arrest.

That would be the goal right? Arrest and charge the perp with his crimes?

Or have we already moved to the point that govern police states and not civil society?
