BTW, President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria just FIRED 16,000 striking doctors. Talk about poor timing! Plus the amount of corrupt stealing in that country by the government would easily pay for their increased wage demands.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Let’s hold off on that until after it hits Syria and Iran, and parts of Yemen and Iraq.

One ominous new trend - the dead are returning to life and eating the living.

Let me rephrase that. If there are no doctors working in that capacity, there is no one to keep statistics. Like votes, they have to be counted to count.

Economically speaking, this might be advantageous for some in the short term.

I don’t doubt the numbers are being underreported.
