Police are investigating reports of a skateboarder beating a ranger in LOVE Park on Friday as others stood by and laughed.
Details of the incident were made public over the weekend, after a witness posted a video of it on the Internet.
The confrontation began just before 5:30 p.m. Friday, police said, when a Philadelphia parks ranger approached a group of skateboarders and told them that skateboarding is not permitted in LOVE Park, located at 15th Street and JFK

If they are not going to arm these guys with even a billy club, my god teach em how to defend themselves against a PUNK like this!
I don't think they're armed in Philly. They simply help guide tourists, I believe, and some lead tours at the historical sites. That's all I've ever witnessed them doing, anyway.
There’s two white kids and an Asian in there. The guard got taken down by the black kid, but the rest egged him on. There also appears to be a Muslim gal in a hijab.
What’s LOVE stand for? (To say nothing of, got to do with it?) Because it’s uppercase.
It was a black doing the beating, I saw at least two white skateboarders standing around looking like they cheered the thug. A Muslim girl looked on and then walked away. I'd say it was a diverse beating.
Take them out to the city gates and stone them to death so that other “children” will see it and fear.
Actually these were Teens.
