They probably view themselves as freedom-fighters, rebelling against an unjust, racist society. So, any perception on the part of the oppressors is irrelevant. Therefore, your (my) take on “gangsta culture” is dismissed as, “No, that’s just me trying to throw off the chains of oppression...DWI!”
I do have some respect for the people who booed him and Fat Albert off the stage ... even if that was the only valuable thing they have ever done, it’s a good first step.

That’s why I mentioned what George Gilder wrote about many African-American communities regressing into acting like other mammals when living in a herd. It’s a very unpleasant life with a lot of violence of all types which results in a very short lifetime.
The race hustlers like Jackson and Sharpton keep the kettle boiling while ‘pastors’ like Obama’s holy man preach communist propaganda and death to whitey.
Unfortunately, the Christian Churches, even the real ones can’t really deal with racial issues because they are afraid of offending and losing members or being perceived as racist but most of all becoming unloving and thus losing the faith that represents God;s love for all people. However, they get played in the process as that can be used against them to support in the end an unChristian agenda. I believe and know that many Christians have trouble voicing reasons for the US to be a sovereign country with borders and laws that would keep out invaders and those who would destroy it for selfish purposes. I attended seminary in the mid 2000’s and it was one of my favorite questions to pose to other students and professors. I would often point out that black liberation theology or liberation theology shouldn’t even be considered orthodox and is clearly gross heresy and heterodox at every level of analysis and to not do so legitimizes it and is a great disservice to the church and damaging. But, people are to fearful to criticize and there is a feeling that one would be tearing down the small piece of the pie that American blacks have of church history and their important contributions. In the end it isn’t loving but fear and cowardice with eternal consequences as liberation theology is a false gospel if one can call social justice or marxist communist views twisting the Christian faith into a false gospel.
Most of them are ‘impromptu opportunists’, spurred on the spot, egged on by larger and larger crowd. Later, they are afraid they’ll miss out on all these ‘FREE stuff’.

Only one thing though: Latinos still have a very strong family culture. As such, they’ll evolve and eventually join the American mainstream just like how the Irish, southern Europeans and eastern Europeans adopted to American culture between 1842 and 1924.
