But 700 meters of ice will melt when the volcano goes off. That will certainly cause the ocean to rise 700 meters and wipe out all of the coastal areas that we currently know, such as all of those little islands in the Pacfic, Florida, Malta, Italy, Iceland itself and even Washington, DC. And there will be no need for the panama canal, as all of central america will be under water.
