The day started overcast, but the sun has popped out and is spreading its rays. It’s 66 right now.

“Andrew. I once read that half the South claims some kinship to Andrew Jackson so dont really know.”
That could be more true than not. The population of British North America was around 2 1/2 million in 1776, and of course just the counting the southern states it would be a lot less.
Southern families tend to have a long history there, and if you can trace your line back to the colonial era you are going to have more cousins that you can count. I have a bunch of Scots Irish ancestors from that era but no Jacksons that I’m aware of. Lee, Carroll, Armstrong, Donald, Yarborough, are some of the old SC families I’m descended from.

Good evening, Kathy!
*HUGS*
Sorry I've been away this evening - I've been vanquishing the iniquitous on a hostile forum.
It's getting back to August in the Belly of the Beast - rather humid today. As is usual in this time of year, the Office was like a tomb - only the true workers around. I went out late morning for an extended walk - - had I waited until afternoon, it would have been unbearable.

Hi, Ma!
Did several trips to Pope AFB and Bragg through Active and Reserve exercises and time with the Air Force.
Mostly with C-130s and Snake Eaters jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. Though one time in the 1980s. A C-130 tried to LAPES (Low Altitude Parachute Extraction System)a Sheridan Fast Recon Vehicle (A light aluminum tank with a big honking cannon) that was released high and tumbled on its Cargo Pallet into a pile of very expensive, unmanned junk.
Bragg is surprisingly large and incredibly well maintained. With LOTS of sand boxes and secluded exercise areas. Since SOCOM gets a large chunk of DoD/Army budget.
Jack.
