As I discussed at the link below, and the thread it is in, what and who is “local” is somewhat fuzzy / contentious.
That said, when you get right down to it, given the population of the St. Louis metropolitan area, the crowd sizes have not been impressive. If 100,000 protesters showed up, then I’d be impressed. That alone tells me most people in the locality have “stayed home”.

Perhaps OTOH, there were 47 arrests in Ferguson last night, I believe. Is that the largest number per night so far?
