The old saying in E. Ky used to be when a baby was born he got a slap on the butt and a roadmap to Detroit, that was long ago. Now he sits on the porch waiting for his check to come from the gov.

I went to Detroit in ‘72 and all you had to put on the app was that you were from E. Ky and you were hired. I lasted 3 months at Chrysler and went back home to the coal mines. Mindless work was too hard for me. Besides that, my accent, admittedly strong, seemed to bring out the rudeness in all I met. Except for a few girls willing to overlook it.

The Democrat disease was already in evidence in Detroit back then, eh.

No wonder they couldn’t sell the Plymouth Cricket (rebadged Hillman Avenger).
