Methinks there is is more to this story than just “refusal to spare a match”.

Guy in Orange Shirt goes into store and asks for a light. Guy (or gal?) in striped shirt offers him a lighter. Orange shirt drops the lighter in the handoff but picks it up lights his butt. When he hands back the lighter it appears to me that orange shirt guy makes an intimidating move to striped shirt guy, flexing his arm and leaning in close with his head cocked sideways but the victim’s face is blurred in the video so it is hard to see if Orange shirt guy is doing anything at all. After ‘flexing” Orange shirt guy goes outside to smoke.

A minute later he goes back into the store and out of the blue cocks back his right arm and wails on some other dude in grey shirt standing next to stripe shirt guy. There are no apparent words exchanged before - Orange just walks in and punches his.

Maybe it is because of a lighter, but it seems to me these two either have some kind of history, or, something was said earlier about the lighter/light that made him mad. It is possible that the guys in the store were taunting Orange shirt guy while he was outside smoking we don’t hear audio or see what they are doing while he smokes. Maybe they made fun of him for dropping the lighter? Just pure speculation but something caused him to flex on the striped shirt guy (who did, in fact, hand over his lighter) and then wail on the other dude.

I thought Orange Shirt (OS) walked in, trying to intimidate and establish dominance and turf rights. By getting the first guy give him a light, intentionally dropping it, and then leaning in like that he was dissing him big time, not once but three times-- this was very intentional and established dominance and turf rights for him and his crew, so no problem with weak guy staying there. Second guy made eye contact with OS when OS looked at him (based on alignment of his head), and failed to be intimidated (based on posture). OS was not happy, but being a gangbanging wuss, went outside to get backup-- ONLY then did he start wailing on the second guy to re-establish dominance.

I've seen many fights start in the hood over eye contact and other nonverbal dominance cues. Funny story-- once when my friend (white like me) intentionally made prolonged eye contact with giant homeboy with two of his crew in East Cleveland outside of store like this, who then took a sucker punch at him immediately. Of course we were very good mixed martial artists, so friend slipped the punch, and 300 pound homeboy went down quick and painfully while being taunted and cursed for good measure. Cop showed up, was afraid of major riot, took my friend aside, and quietly told him, "He said you started it by staring at him, I should take YOU in, you know better-- you don't ever stare at these guys". My friend said, VERY loudly "I'm gonna call my lawyer and tell him a cop just told me it's against the law to look a (N-word) in the eye in Cleveland" --the perp and all his homies could hear him and started going nuts. Cop said, to my friend, "Get the H*** out of here and don't come back, because I will be looking for you." Found out where police loyalties lie, with covering their rear end. I thought the homies were going to burn the store down, but I will say that having lived in hoods during college and grad school, I feel like I developed an understanding of the "rules" these tribals live by.

Your detailed analysis is good... I would just say that somehow the fight, like most fights, is over which individual is granted exclusive access to some girl’s hoo-haa.

Even though I CCW a 5” Kimber 1911 .45cal ACP ‘Target Eclipse II’ and an extra 2 x 8rnd mags (230gr HP) in an opposite holster/pouch, I avoid the city. Too bad, it was nice in the 50s to mid-60s.

"How long does it take to get out of Newark from downtown?"

'Can't say. No one's made it that far.'
