If Native Americans don’t like the term Redskins, that’s all anybody needs to know on the issue.

And there is the straw man of this entire "scandal". Native Americans don't care about the name. A very few do, but we can find someone who has a problem with any name, phrase, idea or concept.

So if his idea is that if Native Americans, don't like the term, then we should cancel the name, then what would he suggest when it comes out that the vast majority of Native Americans aren't offended by the name?

A team owner buys a football team and gives it a name. He selects a name that motivates the team and gives it something in which to aspire.

He gives it a name that signifies courage, determination, strong will, fortitude, a don't give up attitude.

Now, almost 100 years later it is a name with which to be ashamed and condemned.

Everyone of us born in the USA is a Native American, according to the Constitution. ...American Indians are people descended from the many tribes of people who were here on the American Continents (North and South) before the Hispanics and Anglos came.

The Redskins’ name refers to some tribes that stained their bodies with red berry juice before going into battle.

Real American Indians represent a very small % of the US population and only about ONE% of that ethnic group are complaining about the Redskins name. More gimmedats!
