That kind of thing doesn’t happen often in rural areas around here, probably because no one who is a Native Texan of any ethnicity-and not a liberal-likes illegals, mojados or whatever you want to call them. For illegals “sanctuary” out in the country is hard to find...

I got the sense that rural Texas we indeed still America...whereas so much urban and suburban America refuses to behave as what I recognize as Americans.

Went to Bandera a couple of weeks ago on vacation. We love going there, have done so several times and even talked about moving there. But I was amazed at all the huge Mexican families where we stayed, none of whom were speaking English. Neither of the two women cleaning our room spoke a word of English. I can stay in suburban Houston and experience the same thing so guess we’ll just stay home after this and save our money.
