Mass To Be Held For Slain US Journalist Foley AAugust 24 2014 ROCHESTER, N.H. James Foley, the U.S. journalist slain by Islamic State militants after being held in captivity for nearly two years, will be remembered Sunday at a Mass of Remembrance in his hometown.
Foley was kidnapped on Thanksgiving Day 2012 while covering the Syrian uprising. The Islamic State posted a Web video Tuesday showing his murder and said it was in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes in northern Iraq.
President Barack Obama has called Foley a hero for telling the stories of oppressed people in war-torn regions like Syria and Libya. The U.S. launched a raid this summer to rescue Foley and other hostages, but special forces were unable to locate the captives.
The Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday is in Foley's hometown church, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Rochester.

Evidently Obama dithered ‘til Foley died .... had under consideration a rescue attempt for months and when he finally decided to do it, the location of the prisoners had been moved.
Isn’t ISIS concerned that they have made a martyr out of Foley? Won’t this cause the entire non-Muslim world to rally against them? I didn’t think so either.
Our leaders always warn us not to kill our enemies, as that will only make them martyrs. How come our enemies don’t have the same concerns?
The world is upside down.
Obama wouldn’t want to offend the islamists who mudered him.
Wasn’t Foley a supporter of those who beheaded him?
Shouldn’t they send a representative?
Obama at a Catholic mass? He would be struck down by lightening from above!!!!
No Sharptons and Jacksons allowed beyond this line. The Mass does not allow for political speeches.
Biden and Pelosi are both Catholics (perhaps CINOs, as a Lutheran myself it is not for me to say), but they would at least be able to represent the administration, if the administration actually wanted to be represented.
Both should be shown the door.
On live now at ABC news. Very beautiful. It won’t stream without too many interruptions for me.
Foley was a devout Catholic who received first communion and confirmation in my church before his family moved to Rochester.
Interesting.
So what do you make of this:? “James Foley was one of a new breed of activists calling themselves journalists. He didnt travel to report on a story, but to promote an agenda. And the agenda was obvious from his Twitter feed.”

I wonder if M5 is playing psych ops on ISIS in regard to these British members.
I saw the papers made it a point to mention how the Beatles group who ssem to specialize in kidnapping western journalist, have been bragging how they are making personal fortunes on all these ransoms.
I don't think ISIS leadership is going to appreciate it.
The Brits seem to think many of the posts sent out in his name were made by ISIS themselves.
The spellings were often Brit versions with the extra U in word, ie honour, and the phraseology was often British.
BTW, the SOD did not even attend.
Catholic-related question:
Let's assume that Biden and Pelosi were both excommunicated. Would they be restricted from attending a Mass while not taking the Eucharist?
...Foley was white, Michael Brown was black
...Foley was killed by Muslims, Brown by Christians
...All 3 of the WH reps were busy heading to Brown's funeral
...New WH rep Sharpton was already at a march
...Obama hadn't heard it in the press yet about the Foley mass
...Brown was shot 6 times, Foley was only beheaded
...Obama himself had a tee time conflict
All kinds of reasons.
Foley wasn’t black.
...He was operating on behalf of the United States
Michael Brown was.
...He was operating on his own behalf, and can be gamed on racial issues
